One to Ones & Breathing Retreats in The Wye Valley
Private breathwork sessions can be experienced via Zoom (global time zones) or within breathing rooms in London & the Wye Valley.
The breathwork techniques you will experience combine a variety of breath exercises, including conscious connected breathing, Transformational Breath and scientifically proven yoga breathwork techniques. To support the session, you will also experience movement, acupressure (light touch), visualisations and positive intentions to help you access a fuller, healthier breath.
In your introductory session, after a few preliminary questions, you will become aware of any dysfunctional breathing habits. You will be asked what you would most like to gain from the session, be it improve your respiratory system for more energy, letting go of unwanted emotions, enhance focus and concentration, or learn new ways to help you feel deeply relaxed.
Following an analysis of your natural breathing pattern, where you will learn where and why you may hold onto both physical and emotional tension in the body, you will be given gentle, clear instructions to guide your breath into the connected breath pattern.
You will then practise the technique under the guidance of Aimee and by the end of your session, you should be confident enough to start a short practice at home. Throughout the practical part of the session, you will be lying down, in a comfortable position, supported by pillows and blankets.
You will be shown a few key acupressure points to help open up the breath which can help release physical and emotional tension which is often held around the respiratory muscles. Toning (vocal sound) and movement may also be practiced to free any emotional tension in the body. You will continue to use the conscious connected breath pattern until it’s time for deep relaxation when you will return to your natural breathing rhythm. This allows time for the body, breath, and mind to fully process and integrate the session. After the session, you will have time to discuss your experience and Aimee will suggest practical ways you can incorporate a self-practice into your daily life.

“I found Aimee’s approach to transformational breathing to be accessible and engaging. My experience was stimulating to mental creativity, and physically I had the terrific sense of well-being at the end of each session. It is certainly something I have added to my regular wellness regime”.
Zoe Playdon, Professor Emeritus of Medical Humanities, University of London.
“Honestly, I have never felt so relaxed in all my life. That was wonderful. Thank you.”
Mike T, America (via Zoom).
“It was a delight meeting you last weekend, and what an experience! I’ve since told many of my friends and work colleagues. Felt too good an experience to keep to myself!”
Steve Alexander, London.
“Thanks so much for an amazing session – I think I released more in 90 minutes than in years of therapy! Slept like a log last night too!”
Georgia M, Monmouth, Wye Valley
” I recently had a breathwork session via Zoom with Aimee. I have had a few sessions with her face to face which have been phenomenal, so if I’m honest, I wasn’t sure whether a session via the Zoom would be anywhere as near as good, as for me the element of touch (acupressure) has always helped release emotions in previous sessions.
Anyway boy was I wrong! I found that if anything the session was the most powerful one I’ve had. Maybe it was to do with that I had been holding onto a lot of fear since Coronvirus had arrived in the UK and all the emotions that I had pent up, from having to teach the children as well as work, but really and honestly it was an amazing experience, I felt like she was right in the room with me. I feel lighter, brighter and so much happier, I will be booking in again soon. Anyone wanting to try breathwork or regulars to breathwork should book with Aimee – you will be in the most capable, experienced and cared for hands”
Marianne Hardwick, Brighton (via Zoom)

The Benefits
“The importance of breathing need hardly be stressed. It provides the oxygen for the metabolic processes; literally it supports the fires of life. But breath as “pneuma” is also the spirit or soul. We live in an ocean of air like fish in a body of water. By our breathing we are attuned to our atmosphere. If we inhibit our breathing we isolate ourselves from the medium in which we exist. In all Oriental and mystic philosophies, the breath holds the secret to the highest bliss.“
― Alexander Lowen, The Voice of the Body
