Aimee Hartley

Aimee Hartley is the founder of The Breathing Room, School Breathe CIC, and the author of Breathe Well. With over 12 years of experience, she has been teaching breathwork, utilising her in-depth knowledge of breathing patterns and breath exercises to teach the multiple healing qualities of a full, healthy breath.

Aimee teaches to global audiences and has curated bespoke breath workshops and sessions for various organisations, including the Natural History Museum, American Express, Acrylize, GEM Hotels, Byond, Boston Consulting Group, VM Ware, Zoll Medical, HEC Paris, Birmingham University, East of Eden, Philosophy, Ten Group Concierge, and CME Group, among others.

She earned her certification as a Transformational Breath® facilitator with Dr. Judith Kravitz, the founder of the Transformational Breath® Foundation, in Italy and the US. Drawing on her training in breathwork and her 500+ hours of Professional Yoga Teacher Training in the UK and Australia, Aimee combines breathwork techniques and gentle movement to help clients access a fuller, healthier breath. She has also trained with Dr. Patricia Gerbarg and Dr. Richard Brown, founders of Coherent Breathing.

Aimee’s extensive studies and teachings include acclaimed yoga and pranayama teachers at Nature Care College, Sydney, and Donna Fahri and Max Strom. She completed level 1 & 2 of the Art of Living Foundation. Currently teaching internationally, Aimee offers online corporate sessions, one-on-ones, and group workshops. She recently launched a School Breathe Breathwork Teacher Training for those interested in teaching children the benefits of a short, regular breathwork practice.

One-on-one sessions are conducted on Zoom, and she has a dedicated Breathing Room in The Wye Valley, Monmouthshire, Wales. Monthly one-on-one sessions are available at Still Point London in Liverpool Street. Corporate classes and workshops are conducted in London and across the UK.

Aimee’s book, Breathe Well, was released in February 2020 in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US, later translated into German in January 2021. She contributes to magazines and has been featured on Radio 4 and in The Guardian, Financial Times, The Times, Stylist, Red Magazine, Elle, Tatler, and The Telegraph. Her School Breathe Programme has garnered international press coverage. Aimee shares weekly breath exercises on Instagram @breathe.well and posts research and articles on breathing via The Breathing Room’s Facebook Page.

“I would love to see the next generation introduced to breathwork as soon as they start school. It’s paramount we don’t lose our connection with the innate healing qualities that our very own breathing system can bring to our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Conscious breathwork has changed my life so profoundly, and I feel passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience to create simple and accessible ways for everyone to feel the benefits of a full, healthy breath.” – Aimee, Founder of The Breathing Room

Transformational Breath® Session

Private sessions are held in a quiet, relaxing and safe space with natural light and the beautiful healing sound of music. In the introductory session, after a few preliminary questions, you will learn the theory of Transformational Breath® and then be asked what you would like to gain from the session, be it to learn how to improve your breathing, let go of unwanted emotions or simply to feel calmer. Throughout the session you will be lying down, in a comfortable position, supported by pillows and blankets. After an analysis of your natural breathing pattern, you will hear gentle, clear instructions to guide your breath into a connected rhythm.  Gentle pressure (similar to acupressure) or body mapping will be applied to certain areas of the body to release tension.

Toning and movement might also be used to free any negative emotion in the body. You will continue to use the Transformational Breath® pattern for around 45 minutes to an hour. You will then return to your normal breathing rhythm. There is then time for deep relaxation where you lie for 10 – 15 minutes to allow the process to integrate and complete. After the session you will have time to discuss your experience and how you can incorporate a self-practice in to your daily life. A complete session lasts between 75 minutes to 90 minutes hours.
