Coherent breathing is one of the simplest and most effective breath practices. The majority of adults breathe too fast and shallow, and this has an immediate impact on how we feel. The average adult breathes between 12 – 16 breaths per minute yet scientific research shows us that the optimum rate to breathe, for better physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, is 5.5 breaths per minute. It is best to work up to this pace, but coherent breathing is approximately five breaths per minute. The track below is for you to build and sustain a regular breathwork practice.
