Each one of us has a unique breathing pattern and we hold onto stress and tension within our respiratory muscles which restricts us from breathing deeply and fully.

In this 2.5 workshop you will learn about how and where your body holds on to tension and practice the combination therapy, Transformational Breath, which involves circular breathing, acupressure (light touch – no needles!), sound, movement and positive affirmations.PHOTO-GIRL-ON-ROCK-MED-RES-1

This cutting-edge breath work can be powerful and transformative and great for those committed to change and self improvement.

You will experience the benefits of learning how to breathe fully and release tension from the body with ease. The body and mind can feel lighter, freer and much more relaxed just after one session.

The workshop will take place at East of Eden. This light and airy studio is situated on Hatherley Mews, a 2 minutes walk from Walthamstow Central underground and overground. All yoga mats, blankets and cushions are provided and there is shower facilities for you to use after the session should you be going out!

About Aimee Hartley who will be presenting the workshop:

Aimee studied and qualified as a Transformational Breath Facilitator and Workshop leader with Dr Judith Kravitz, Founder of Transformational Breath Foundation, in Italy and the US in 2011. She currently offers private Transformational Breath sessions and workshops in London and runs retreats in the UK. A qualified Professional Yoga Teacher she has taught in the UK, Australia and South East Asia over the past 6 years. She has seen 1,000’s of clients over the last six years who come to her to manage anxiety, eating disorders, depression, sleep disorders, stress, low energy levels and for those looking for transformation. Aimee has experienced hundreds of breath works in her yoga teaching training and practice and Transformational Breath is the most powerful conscious breath work she has come across to date.

OCTOBER RETREAT

October is a great time of year to kick-start an energising routine for the body and learn new reflective ways to master the mind.  With the chill of Winter on the horizon, this retreat will inspire you to enliven the body and introduce you to the benefits of turning your awareness inwards, helping the mind to feel calm. Inspiration Space’s 2 night retreat will be held at 42 Acres, Somerset’s wellness retreat for those seeking sumptuous simplicity, combines the powerful healing technique, Transformational Breathing, deeply nourishing Yoga and Meditation. Recently voted ‘One of the most relaxing retreats in the World’ by Tatler Magazine, there will also be a chance to indulge in some body work with top massage therapists..  With a variety of rooms all designed by Jo Berryman, whether you opt for a shared multi-layered, Nomadic Loft dorm or go solo in the Grand Suite, you will enjoy the finest of style, comfort and company.

VENUE:   The huge renovated farmhouse is just outside Frome and the sunny reception space is just the start of this wonderful wellness retreat experience. With the French doors leading out to view across the 42 acres of pri42 acres main housevate land and 700 acres of the surrounding ancient forest, theirs not really an excuse to move on from this room at all……until you see the kitchen, the reading room, the yoga & breathing room, the bedrooms….we didn’t want to leave…and that’s why we are going back.

The Yoga and Breathing sessions take place in the specially dedicated room for healing and transformation.  This beautiful room has large windows for natural light, wooden floorboards to help you feel naturally g
rounded, gorgeous cushions and throws so you will be warm and comfortable during all your sessions.  We provide all the yoga mats for the breathing and yoga sessions but some guests like to bring their own mat and blankets which you are welcome to do.

THE BEDROOMS

There are 8 bedrooms, from luxurious shared dorm rooms, twins with shared bathrooms, private rooms with ensuites and the Grand Master Suite with a walk in dressing room and ensuite complete with roll top bath.   All are unique in design to suit the space and function of each room with a slick look and a country feel.

THE KITCHEn bar where teas and healthy juices are servedAll meals are provided by the in house chef, Mark Mabon, who has 20 years experience of cooking world foods, baking organic breads and draws on deep practical knowledge of the cleansing properties of healing whole foods, and nourishing properties of organic recipes.  Everything is hand-made from fresh ingredients in the relaxed, sunny atmosphere of the farm kitchen at 42acres.  To support the transformative process, we offer gluten free, vegetarian recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and any food intolerances are always catered for.  Herbal teas, healthy snacks will be available throughout the day and evenings.

THE YOGA AND BREATHING

Jess Horn, Yoga Teacher

Jess, co-founder of Inspiration Space is a British Wheel and Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher and has been taught by some of the finest teachers from around the globe including Sean Corne, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Adhil Palkilava and Claire Missingham.  Originally practicing Ashtanga yoga, she has also trained in Iyengar, Restorative and Yin and now teaches a blend of gently flowing, breath led and alignment based classes. She strongly believes in the transformative power of yoga and in helping students to discover tools to connect more deeply and mindfully with their bodies bringing more awareness into their practice and into their lives. She is a strong advocate that yoga shouldn’t be taken too seriously and should put a huge smile on your face and in your heart!

Aimee Hartley & Rebecca Dennis, Transformational Breathworkers

Aimee & Rebecca, co-founders of Inspiration Space will take you on a powerful journey with your breath. You will learn and experience the deep healing benefits of Transformational Breath and practice this progressive self healing breath work through out your sessions. This can help you let go of any unhealthy breathing habits, such as breath holding, shallow breathing and over breathing and release both physical and emotional tension from the body. This can dramatically shift the way you feel in your body and bring higher states of awareness to the mind.

The retreat programme is developed in a careful way so you will have all the tools, knowledge and experience to develop your own practice of this deeply healing breathwork.

This specially formulated workshop for women combines the powerful and cutting edge technique of Transformational Breath with deeply restorative Yin Yoga.

The afternoon will begin with an introductory workshop of Transformational Breathing – a powerful self-healing technique that enables you to clear restricted breathing patterns and fully access your breathing capacity. This can help you feel freer emotionally, physically and mentally. Letting go of the breath and learning to access a fuller respiratory system enables you to release stress and physical tension and manage negative thought patterns which helps you gain more clarity.

A unique combination of five traditional therapies, you will experience the conscious power of all of these healing modalities in the first half of the workshop. This will then be followed by a unique yoga programme especially formulated to enhance the senses and stimulate deeper feelings within the body.

By learning how to improve your individual breathing pattern you can release tension from the body, relax the mind and find a place of calm in your being.

Through the physical and emotional grounding of Yin Yoga, this will focus on the first Chakra, Muladhara opening and stretching the lower body rooting your attention downwards to renew confidence and commitment to the next steps of your life’s journey.

The session will close with a guided relaxation.

THE VENUE:  Located between Reading and Newbury, just 45 miles from London, The Wasing Estate (www.wasing.co.uk) is 4,000 acres of Nania-esque ancient woodland, expansive countryside and winding rivers.  An oasis of calm, Wasing is the perfect place to breathe fresh air, fully relax and rejuvenate.

Transformational Breathing, Yoga and Meditation sessions will be enjoyed in The Garden Room, a light and airy space that has been designed for you to stretch out, exhale and relax.  There is also a treatment room where you can enjoy deep body work in between sessions.  (Massages to be booked in advance and paid for separately).

THE ACCOMODATION CHOICE: You can stay at Home Farm, a delightful six bedroom property located at the top of the Estat’s sweeping drive.  This quaint retreat is the perfect country house to relax in comfortable surroundings.   Open fires, reading rooms and a beautiful dining room where meals will be served, there is plenty of space for you to enjoy.  The rooms within Home Farm are shared.  There are also private en suite rooms allocated within the Coach House.  These uniquely designed rooms are spacious, opulent and the perfect place to unwind.

WASING WOODLAND: The Wasing Estate is a wonder to walk around and to be enjoyed during your time here. THE TEAM:

Aimee Hartley: Aimee, owner of www.thebreathingroom.co.uk, studied and qualified as a Transformational Breath®  Facilitator and workshop presenter with Dr Judith Kravitz, Founder of Transformational Breath Foundation, in Italy and the US and works with Alan Dolan on his visits to the UK.  She currently offers private Transformational Breath sessions and workshops in London.  A qualified Professional Yoga Teacher she has taught in the UK, Australia and South East Asia over the past 6 years.

Rebecca Dennis:  Rebecca, is the founder of www.breathingtree.co.uk and is a qualified Transformational Breath coach and workshop leader.  She studied with founder Judith Kravitz in Mexico, Miami, Italy and in the UK.  She is an experienced body worker with a BTEC Diploma in Massage, Physiology and Anatomy and also Reiki I, II and III Masters. She tailors her approach accordingly.

She has a strong intuition and a gentle approach when working with people. Her wealth of experience in bodywork and healing has given her a great understanding of the body and where emotion, trauma and tension is held.

Rebecca is based in London and Wasing Park, Berkshire

THE BREATHING

Transformational Breath®, is a progressive healing technique which can help people access the full potential of their breathing system for better physical, emotional and mental well-being.  The connected pattern of conscious breathing is a natural, safe and easy-to-learn technique, which has proven to have many benefits almost universally, including increased energy, better immune response and increased ability to deal with stress in a positive way.

Breathing controls the functioning of every cell, and the physiology of the entire body, it is no surprise that improper breathing is a contributory factor to ill health. Transformational Breath® helps correct old unhealthy patterns of breathing, releases tension from the respiratory muscles which in turn encourages a fuller, more conscious breath.

Diaphragmatic Breathing

Diaphragmatic breathing is paramount to the Transformational Breath® process.  Experiencing a deep breath into the abdomen is not only relaxing; it’s been scientifically proven to positively affect the heart, brain, digestive and immune system. Once the breath is moving in the abdomen, the upper lungs can be activated so eventually the breath is full, connected and active.

Rebecca and Aimee will teach you this cutting edge technique and you will have all the skills and knowledge at the end of the weekend to cultivate a self practice at home.

THE YOGA

An energising morning class has been designed to help with the detoxification process. Jess will lead you through a gently flowing class with twists and movements designed to help open up your energetic pathways ready for your breathing practice.

Yin yoga is a practice of long-held, deeply relaxing “stretching” poses that open and energize the “meridians,” or energy pathways of the body, restoring youthful joint mobility as you quietly activate and gather your chi, your prana—your life force.

Jess will lead you through poses designed to stretch and revitalize the deeper connective tissue in every part of the body, stimulating your meridians which connect to your vital organs and help to restore balance and harmony in your body and mind. This “needle-free” form of acupuncture will leave you feeling calm and energized at the same time.

You will explore the power of setting an intention or ‘Sankalpa’ and how this profound practice can help initiate change in your life. We will end the session with a delicious yoga nidra – a deeply relaxing technique that’s a phenomenal way to plant the seed for change in your life.
