 Walthamstow’s innovative yoga and Pilates studio, East of Eden, is collaborating with leading Transformational Breath facilitator Aimee Hartley to create a very special event for mothers in January 2018 to nourish, stimulate and recharge:

RESET, an urban day retreat at Bethnal Green’s Town Hall Hotel between 10am and 5.30pm on Sunday 21st January 2018 weaves breath and movement with delicious plant-based heathy food and goodies to enable mums to reset themselves for 2018 after a busy festive period.

Designed with mums in mind, you will be led through a series of yoga inspired movements and postures to help access a fuller respiratory system. You’ll start with a full Transformational Breath session followed by deep relaxation and a simple, short meditation.

After a delicious vegan lunch, we’ll close the afternoon with a yin yoga practice and meditation led by Vanessa Bridgman to create space in the body by working with the deep connective tissue fascia – more rejuvenating than a nap.

No yoga experience is required and you stay in postures for a longer period of time. Breathing correctly is essential for feeling well. A full breath can help you feel more energised, less stressed and learning new breathing exercises can help you enjoy a deeper sleep. Everything you learn on the day can then be practiced at home.

Aimee Hartley: Aimee is a certified Transformational Breath Facilitator, qualified yoga teacher and a mum of two. She has used many breath work exercises pre and post pregnancy and conscious breath work and movement are her go to practice to help manage the challenges of parenthood.

East of Eden, East of Eden offers over 80 classes a week of mat and reformer Pilates, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Rocket yoga, Flow & Restore, Yin, pre and post natal, Jivamukti and yoga for teens and the over 50s. The yoga studio, houses 30+ mats with double height ceilings, skylights and a floor-to-ceiling glass frontage. The ‘living wall’ contains different varieties of Epipremnum and Hedera plants recognised by NASA for their air purifying qualities to help detoxify in the urban environment, enhance yogic breathing, increase lung capacity and cultivate a more consistent breathing pattern. 42-acres-outside-700-pixJoin us in beautiful Somerset this July for a 3 day luxury retreat combining nourishing and energising yoga and meditation with the powerful healing of Transformational Breath. 42 Acres is a stunning, 10 bedroom farmhouse set in 42 acres of woodland, perfect to get away from the craziness of life in London. It’s been built as a dedicated retreat venue so there are beautiful spaces for yoga inside and out.

All meals are provided by the in house chef, Mark Mabon, who has 20 years experience of cooking world foods, baking organic breads and draws on deep practical knowledge of the cleansing properties of healing whole foods, and nourishing properties of organic recipes. We’ll also be arranging for massage therapists to be available for deeply relaxing massages and bodywork.

Everything is hand-made from fresh ingredients in the relaxed, sunny atmosphere of the farm kitchen at 42 acres. To support the transformative process, we offer gluten free, vegetarian recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and any food intolerances are always catered for.

Herbal teas, healthy snacks will be available throughout the day and evenings.

Accommodation options range from Dormitories to Twin’s and Single rooms (ensuite options available) with luxury linen and towels provided. The centre has several communal spaces including a library and a meeting and reading space.

Aimee Hartley, founder The Breathing Room and co-founder of Inspiration Space, will take you on a powerful journey with your breath. You will learn and experience the deep healing benefits of Transformational Breath and practice a variety of conscious breath exercises to use in every day life. This can help you let go of any unhealthy breathing habits, such as breath holding, shallow breathing and over breathing and release both physical and emotional tension from the body. This can dramatically shift the way you feel in your body and bring higher states of awareness to the mind.

The retreat programme is developed in a careful way so you will have all the tools, knowledge and experience to develop your own practice of this deeply healing breath-work.

THE YOGA – Ann Pidcock

Ann Pidcock, www.annieyoga.co.uk will be teaching you a dynamic, heartfelt, creative Vinyasa Flow in the mornings and a more restorative routine in the late afternoon, sharing some of her favourite Yoga Nidras in the evenings to ensure you have a good night’s sleep. Her original teacher training was 500 hours BWY with Danny DeVille. She has since sought out wisdom from many wonderful teachers, adding texture and depth to this foundation. Her interest in how the body moves is largely influenced by her work in dance, whereas the breathing, asana and esoteric elements stem from her education in Yoga and its rich history of ideas and styles.

Ann trained in restorative yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater and is a certified ‘Relax and Renew’ teacher. She is a certified Believing whole heartedly that being able to access this profoundly restful state is deeply important to being healthy human beings. It works in harmony with her more flow based teachings and fits well with embracing all necessary aspects of wellness.

You will experience the benefits of learning how to breathe fully and release tension from the body with ease by learning the cutting edge breath-work, Transformational Breath. The body and mind can feel lighter, freer and much more relaxed just after one session.

Ella is a certified Transformational Breath® facilitator and Reiki Master. Ella’s experience with Reiki started in 2007 when it helped her to address challenges she was facing at the time & gave her an ability to reframe her choices. Combining the therapeutic effects of Reiki with the meditative effects of Transformational Breathing and the healing beat of the drum has allowed Ella to add a further dimension to her Reiki work in supporting deep change and relaxation in those she works with. Reiki Drum which will be led by Ella Oliver combines the essential beauty of and subtle power of Reiki energy with the sacred essence of shamanic drumming. The use of drums has featured for centuries in rituals of many cultures for meditation, healing and celebrating. Research is showing the power of drumming for healing a range of medical and mental health conditions. In his paper ‘The Healing Power of the Drum’ Robert Lawrence Friedman psychotherapist and drum facilitator looks at the effect that drumming has on particular groups of people affected by Alzhiemer’s, post traumatic stress disorder, sufferers of anger and pent up negativity, at risk adolescents and executives suffering from stress. He found that using the drum allowed for relaxation and the release of tension, creation of energy in the tired, release of anger and pent up emotions, feelings of euphoria, anger release and feelings of connection.

The power of Integrating the breath and drum with Reiki brings about deep relaxation, release of bodily tension & reconnection with optimal energetic vibration. Combining these techniques also promotes deep emotional healing, letting go of deep physical pain and tension and the potential for mental and emotional reprogramming of old destructive patterns of behaviour.

42-acres-outside-700-pix42 acres is Somerset’s stunning new wellness retreat for those seeking real transformation. “We work with the land and its abundance of natural resources and we use biomass and solar power to generate energy for the entire space. We have used reclaimed materials to both build and outfit the property, mixed with the influence, style and expertise of designer Jo Berryman”.
The huge renovated farmhouse is just outside Frome and th42-acres-bathroome sunny reception space is just the start of this wonderful wellness retreat experience. With the French doors leading out to view across the 42 acres of private land and 700 acres of the surrounding ancient forest, theirs not really an excuse to move on from this room at all……until you see the kitchen, the reading room, the yoga & breathing room, the bedrooms….we didn’t want to leave…and that’s why we are going back.

The main house has 8 bedrooms, ranging from cool nomadic style loft dorms, twin rooms, double rooms and a Grand Master suite with a walk in Dressing Room and Ensuite Bathroom with roll top bath and a

st shower. All rooms have luxury linen, fluffy towels in the bathrooms with Boschendal Farm organic toiletries for your morning showers or evening baths.

Then there is Deer Cottage, just eleven steps from the main house which has 3 twin rooms with ensuite bathrooms and a dedicated massage room scattered with scented candles and low lighting.

This beautiful room has large windows for natural light, wooden floorboards to help you feel naturally grounded, gorgeous cushions and throws so you will be warm and comfortable during all your sessions. Jess Horn, Yoga Teacher

Jess, co-founder of Inspiration Space is a British Wheel and Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher and has been taught by some of the finest teachers from around the globe including Sean Corne, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Adhil Palkilava and Claire Missingham. Originally practicing Ashtanga yoga, she has also trained in Iyengar, Restorative and Yin and now teaches a blend of gently flowing, breath led and alignment based classes. She strongly believes in the transformative power of yoga and in helping students to discover tools to connect more deeply and mindfully with their bodies bringing more awareness into their practice and into their lives. She is a strong advocate that yoga shouldn’t be taken too seriously and should put a huge smile on your face and in your heart!

Founders of www.inspirationspace.co.uk Aimee Hartley, Rebecca Dennis and Jess Horn will be joined by EFT Master Jemima Eames, combining powerful therapies for a deep and unique experience encouraging the mind and body to let go and rejuvenate. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is also known as ‘tapping’. It’s described as “acupuncture without the needles” and is a process of gently tapping on specific points on the head and hands. This clears blockages in the energy system, releasing physical and emotional pain from the body.

EFT is used by millions of people worldwide for many diverse issues such as stress, anxiety, phobias and physical pain. It often works when other treatments have failed. Once you’ve learnt the basic tapping sequence which you will learn in the workshop, you have a brilliant, easy and effective tool for life. During the session you will learn about the subconscious mind, where our behaviour comes from and how to use tapping to create a stress-free life.

The afternoon will begin with Jemima Eames taking you through a session of EFT and then Yoga Teacher, Jess Horn will lead a short but carefully designed movement and stretching sequence to ground us and open up the respiratory system, allowing us to fully arrive for our practice. Modifications will be given to make it suitable for all bodies.

Then Aimee Hartley & Rebecca Dennis will take you on a powerful journey with your breath. You will learn and experience the deep healing benefits of Transformational Breath and practice this progressive self healing breath work. This can help you let go of any unhealthy breathing habits, such as breath holding, shallow breathing and over breathing and release both physical and emotional tension from the body. This can dramatically shift the way you feel in your body and bring higher states of awareness to the mind.

JEMIMA EAMES, EFT PRACTITIONER
I have helped hundreds of people from all around the world to release their stress and anxiety since I first started tapping in 2009.
I suffered daily with anxiety and was diagnosed with depression at the age of 21. I was put on anti-depressants and sent to see a counsellor. Although this was what I needed at the time, it didn’t offer a long-term solution for me. Slowly over the next 8 years I saw various counsellors and therapists, each helping me take another step. When I discovered tapping, my life improved dramatically almost overnight!

It took me a while to understand at first, but when I discovered the power and effectiveness of EFT I was hooked! I went on to train with Karl Dawson – EFT Master and creator of Matrix Reimprinting – and was blown
away by what I learnt from him. I have been tapping ever since.

It worked so well for me that I just had to share it with the world. I went from being too scared to stand with the other mum’s at the school gate, to being a Governor. I now give talks and run workshops and have no fear in social situations anymore. This is all down to EFT and Matrix Reimprinting. I soon became
a practitioner and now I get to tap every day. I love it!

I am passionate about what I do and I am an experienced and extremely effective practitioner. I had begun training to be a counsellor when I discovered EFT. This background, easy rapport and strong empathy lead to quick, long-lasting and deep resolution of often long term issues.

JESS HORN, YOGA TEACHER

Jess, co-founder of Inspiration Space and owner of www.jesshorn-yoga.co.uk is a British Wheel and Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher and has been taught by some of the finest teachers from around the globe including Sean Corne, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Adhil Palkilava and Claire Missingham.

Originally practicing Ashtanga yoga, she has also trained in Iyengar, Restorative and Yin and now teaches a blend of gently flowing, breath led and alignment based classes. She strongly believes in the transformative power of yoga and in helping students to discover tools to connect more deeply and mindfully with their bodies bringing more awareness into their practice and into their lives. She is a strong advocate that yoga shouldn’t be taken too seriously and should put a huge smile on your face and in your heart!
